This directory contains "snapshot" tarballs that are cut
from the mainline development branch from time to time in
between releases.

There is absolutely no guarantee that these will even build.
Use them at your own risk.

These snapshot tarballs generally disappear shortly after the
next full release comes out.  If you need a particular revision,
you'll need to install git and get it that way.
